Sierra Photography consists of a two person team, Daniel Clark (of DanJClarkPhoto.com) and Deanna Jones (that’s me, I’m website-less). Photography has been in both of our lives since childhood. My mother is a photographer, so I was exposed to cameras as soon as I could hold one. In my favorite family video of Daniel, he is around two years old, lifting a plastic camera toward the videographer and saying “Cam-mer. Cam-mer.” He jokes that clip will be featured on his E! True Hollywood Story someday.

Daniel and I met in our early teens. He had been making art, including photography, for a while by then. As I was admiring his work, I offhandedly mentioned that I wished I was able to take photos as beautiful as his. He said “Why don’t you, then?” Without a good answer, I went home and began to photograph with my mother’s equipment.

After high school, Daniel and I went separate ways. He attended the University of Nevada, Reno and graduated with a B.A. in Photography, minor in Journalism. He now photographs for the major metropolitan newspaper in our area. I attended university for X-Ray, and maintain photography as a hobby. A bit before Daniel's college graduation, we came into face-to-face contact for the first time since our teens. The short version is that we fell in love, and are going to be married in May of 2012. I like to think we are a true story of how art brings people together.
Besides creating, what other hobbies do you have?

Daniel and I really enjoy the outdoors. We like to camp, fish, ride 4-wheelers, basically anything that gets us out of the city for a little while.

Where does your inspiration come from?

I can't really speak for Daniel on this one, but my inspiration comes from whatever is around me at the time. I really believe that there is something worth photographing in every situation, every environment. I try to keep my camera with me on every outing just in case something catches my eye.

Where would you like to be in 10 years?

Daniel's degree is in photography with a minor in journalism. He chose these courses of study because he is interested in photojournalism, and in ten years I really think he'd like to be a staff photographer at a major newspaper. As photography isn't what I went to school for, it's hard for me to say where I'd like to be in ten years as far as our art goes. Hopefully it will still be something that I can maintain in addition to my career in the medical field.
More

Hello, my name is Nathalie

I’m 47 and I own 3 shops on Etsy and I must say it’s a lot of work but I love it and it a full time job for me. And I can say that it is starting to pay a lot more then the first year. It's worth all the energy that I put in. But here is why I'm into eco-friendly and recycling business. Even at a very young age I use to keep everything for a later use, just in case you know. That was recycling but I did not know it.. In my teenage years , my Mom was alone to take care of me and so I tried to help out by sewing my own clothes the best I could and besides I was taller then all the pants she bought , so I had to use a lot of imagination to fit material to my pants she had bought and make it fit together. Those were already my designer talents coming through. But I never would work as one until very late in my life because I had children of my own at a very young age and taught my children the importance of recycling, living simply so we do not waist, reduce our imprint on this earth and we lived strongly amongst these terms. And so life went on , they grew up , and 2 left, and I hope they took with them what I taught them. The jobs I did when I had the kids were waitressing, bar maid , I use to work in flower shops, until I decided I would try my luck at designing, but I never took a course, but what I did is I take old but still good clothes, old material, at salvation’s Army and flea market and other places like these, and I would actually make clothes out of them. I use to sell my clothes on consignment in 3 boutiques for 4 years. All was fine, until my back gave out, and then I got 3 major back surgeries, within 10 years . So I had to change my lifestyle. Anyways I stayed in the eco-friendly business only on a smaller scale My Etsy shops whether they are crochet, sewn items or jewelery, are all earth friendly.
Be well advised that when you buy a Recupefashion, BeautyRecycled product you get a 100% earth friendly eco product, and I am most proud to offer it to you.

I am a lover of books, especially the vintage ones. I don't care what it is about, if the print is older than me, I want it. For instance, I own a book written entirely in short hand. Do I read short hand? No. So why do I own it? Because its age transforms it into something so much more than what it was when first printed. I feel like it holds so much more history than a new book that you could buy at Barnes & Noble.

Speaking of the newer books... Those I tend to destroy. I love making beautiful crafts out of the pages of books. And to me, it is a lot different when I can just go buy another copy of the book. Really, I am only giving that author & publishing co. more money anyways, so i don't think they mind.

My creations are inspired by the beautiful look of vintage books & the Victorian era. I love old buildings & libraries. And I could spend hours just staring at a particular shelf in my local library, which is filled with huge old tomes of our towns history and other beautiful vintage books.

Tell the readers about yourselfMy name is Courtney Rae; I'm addicted to coffee & words. I will be getting married in August 2012 & when I'm not working or planning the wedding I spend much of my free time reading & editing my fiancé’s novel & short stories.

Besides creating, what other hobbies do you have?Hmm... Besides creating... um... sleeping? Haha, pretty much all of my hobbies involve creating something. The only time I'm not creating is when I sleep, and even that is debatable. I love cooking & baking, writing poems, lyrics, short stories, screen plays & blogs. I also love interior design, & event planning & graphic design. But I do also enjoy reading, & playing board games with my fiancé. RISK is my all-time favorite board game, but my fiancé is less of a fan so we usually play Settlers of Catan, which is his favorite & my second favorite. I also love doing Sudoku puzzles when I have the time.

Where does your inspiration come from?Originally, my inspiration came from my wedding. We decided to have a book themed wedding with a very vintage style, drawing inspiration from the 1800's & earlier. I came up with many ideas & started creating many things, not all of which were a perfect fit for my own wedding, so I decided to open up BookCraft as a way to share those ideas with other brides. I continue to keep my mind fresh with new ideas by drawing inspiration from images of the Victorian era, old, huge libraries, old tomes & vintage classics. I try to create the perfect blend between rustic & elegant.

Where would you like to be in 10 years?
In 10 years, I would love to own a coffee shop, I have so many ideas & I am very excited to implement them. Though would really like to continue creating & selling on Etsy. Owning my own shop on Etsy has allowed me to spend time doing many of the things that I love doing: Crafting, marketing, graphic design, social media, copywriting, & yes, even accounting. They say there are two types of people, those that love English & those that love math, but I've always been a big fan of both & I love that Etsy allows me to spend time doing both.
Aprilhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07061060744093554273noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5708366205913623267.post-21891604966061003192011-12-29T18:23:00.000-08:002011-12-29T18:23:02.583-08:00Tu Sei Bella: Featured Etsian: Country ConnectionTu Sei Bella: Featured Etsian: Country Connection: I own Treasure Seekers a family owned and operated multi-vendor market.

This primitive snowman is one of my favorite things to make. His head has been handcrafted from warm and natural batting which has been tea dyed. His hat is felt and a homespun tie has been added. The entire hat was then brushed with cinammon to create an older look. He has button eyes, a stitched mouth, and his nose is made from a painted and cinammoned paper plate. He smells good.

He sits on a base of greenery and red pip berries, and an old bed spring. He is 12" tall. A tag adorns the spring which says winter welcome. He can either be displayed as a makedo or can be added to the top of your Christmas tree. He can then be taken down and displayed til spring on a shelf or wherever you might decide to add him.

Homespun ties may vary as well as color of warm and natural as it has been tea dyed. There is a variation between snowmen as they are handmade. That is one of the things of beauty of buying handmade in the USA. Every one is different.

This would be a great addition to anyones snowman collection.

This snowman can be combined with other purchases and out of United States shipments will be quoted upon request.
The Interview:

I am a happily married mother and grandmother living in God's country here in Southern Indiana. I come from a long line of crafts people. My grandmother and mother both have sewn and made quilts for as long as I can remember. When my girls were little, I made all their clothes. My husband and I have been doing craft shows since 1993. My tastes orgininally ran more toward primitive. He is a retired cabinetmaker so quality is sooo on his mind when building his wood products.

I just recently retired and am having a wonderful time going treasure hunting to find all the beautiful vintage items available in our area. I really enjoy upcycling all the treasures I find into beautiful, bright wall hangings, wedding products and bright colored decor. This etsy adventure is not just to supplement income; it is fun just to see what you can create from a rusty old item or vintage find.

When we are not creating, we love to go camping, boating, fishing and just enjoying all the beautiful sights of nature here in the hills of Southern Indiana. We have a mini farm of 8 acres and enjoy growing fresh garden products as well as strawberries. A night in the summertime here in the country is filled with whipporwills, fireflies, crickets and locusts. During the day, we see an abundance of deer, rabbits, birds and other small forest creatures.

In ten years from now, I hope to be doing just what I am doing now, creating, laughing, holding my grandchildren and just enjoying life in general

The Interview:

~ Besides creating, what other hobbies do you have?

I love to take walks and enjoy the area I live in. I've moved around a lot, so it's a great way to get acquainted with everything close by. I am also a photographer, so I love to take pictures of the nature around me. I've discovered that there are many surprising things hidden in Salt Lake City. I write music...and that helps me to unwind.

~ Where does your inspiration come from?

I use my jewelry making as a form of meditation. I also study the techniques of many different artists. I look at different color combinations and try to understand why they work (or don't work).

~ Where would you like to be in 10 years?

I hope I'll have my own home with a jewelry studio. I'd love to be working with more precious stones and metals by then.
-----

Thanks!

This charming piece is made by multiple layers of beads and ribbons. The layers in this necklace are as follows:

Two tiny red ribbons with burgundy wood beads;
Two tiny turquoise ribbons with burgundy wood beads;
Two tiny pink ribbons with burgundy wood beads;
One big red glass bead;
Three rows of little pink glass beads on a silk tread, one with a brass heart that has the Chinese character 富 (fu), that means prosperity;

All these layers are connected to a metal ribbon pinch end, a silver chain made of several hoops and a lobster clasp. The total length of this necklace is around 19-inches. The necklace is adjustable by a few inches to shorten it due to the links of the chain. The lobster clasp can be easily clipped into any of the open links.

This necklace is unique ! There will never be another one like this !
Who knows, maybe this little chinese heart will bring you properity !
Click this link to see more. http://www.etsy.com/listing/42706149/necklace-chinese-heart-and-ribbons
About: Hi!
My name is Heidi and I looove Etsy !!!
I am an artist (and a future art teacher !) residing in Montreal, Quebec.

I create everything you see here at H.Golden Oaks in my small studio. In fact, I enjoy every step of the design process; from choosing the perfect materials, to watching what's in my head materialize.

In the past, I studied arts in college and university and then worked as a mosaïcist.
I have also experimented in acrylic painting, silkscreen painting, snow sculpture, photography, video, resins, wood sculpture, collages, puppet making, etc. I have created jewelry since I was a kid.

I usually work with fabrics, ribbons, beads and recycled objects. I like to create strange and intimate worlds that possess their own ambiance. I usually have several projects going on at once and dozens in my head. Most items in my shop are very limited editions. Thanks so much for stopping by! xo, :) Heidi
In the Christian religion, faith is one of the most important parts. For we cannot see God, but we have faith that he is real. I have seen this bible verse in action many times
The Interview

Tell the readers about yourself.
I'm 19 years old and am currently a sophomore in college. I'm majoring in graphic design but I also love illustration. I have a loving family and boyfriend who are constantly supporting me. I tend to be quite shy at first but once I get talking to someone, I won't stop talking, haha. I knew I always wanted to be an artist but didn't decide to pursue it until high school, where I got a lot of negative feedback and criticism.
Besides creating, what other hobbies do you have?
I love to play the keyboard and I love baking cookies.
Where does your inspiration come from?
My inspiration comes from everything around me. My faith in Christ is where I get most inspiration but I also get inspiration from nature and things people say. I love typography so I'll take things I hear and make it aesthetically pleasing in an art print.
Where would you like to be in 10 years?
I would like to either own my own business or working for Chrysler. I'm a diehard Mopar fan.

About

Hi, I'm Rebecca. Welcome to my shop! http://www.etsy.com/shop/BeckyTDesigns

graphic design student with a passion for typography and all things graphic design as well as an interest in illustration. I have a love for Jesus and enjoy showing this in my work. I also love working with people to make their own ideas come true.

I remember always drawing. In pre-k though, my circles were drawn as lines and my lines were drawn as swirls. It's amazing how much I've changed haha. God has truly given me a talent and I don't want to waste it and not do anything with it.

God Bless!
Aprilhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07061060744093554273noreply@blogger.com9
