Featured Etsian: Goldenoaks

Here is my favorite item from Goldenoaks.

This charming piece is made by multiple layers of beads and ribbons. The layers in this necklace are as follows:

Two tiny red ribbons with burgundy wood beads;
Two tiny turquoise ribbons with burgundy wood beads;
Two tiny pink ribbons with burgundy wood beads;
One big red glass bead;
Three rows of little pink glass beads on a silk tread, one with a brass heart that has the Chinese character 富 (fu), that means prosperity;

All these layers are connected to a metal ribbon pinch end, a silver chain made of several hoops and a lobster clasp. The total length of this necklace is around 19-inches. The necklace is adjustable by a few inches to shorten it due to the links of the chain. The lobster clasp can be easily clipped into any of the open links.

This necklace is unique ! There will never be another one like this !

I am an artist (and a future art teacher !) residing in Montreal, Quebec.

I create everything you see here at H.Golden Oaks in my small studio. In fact, I enjoy every step of the design process; from choosing the perfect materials, to watching what's in my head materialize.

In the past, I studied arts in college and university and then worked as a mosaïcist.
I have also experimented in acrylic painting, silkscreen painting, snow sculpture, photography, video, resins, wood sculpture, collages, puppet making, etc. I have created jewelry since I was a kid.

I usually work with fabrics, ribbons, beads and recycled objects. I like to create strange and intimate worlds that possess their own ambiance. I usually have several projects going on at once and dozens in my head. Most items in my shop are very limited editions.

***Besides creating, what other hobbies do you have?

Walking my dog near Saint-Laurent river (Montreal), shopping on Etsy, Going out with friends, handmade/art exibitions and events, music in general (summer festivals, shows), watching series and movies, etc

***Where does your inspiration come from?

Dreams, personnal expériences, art, vintage

***Where would you like to be in 10 years?

First of all, I would like to be in good health and happy.
I would like to be still creating new things in a bigger workspace. Also, teaching arts and being surrounded by people that I love.
